Heavy Burden

Heavy Burden

I can see it in your eyes.
Hear it in your voice.
See it in your stride.
Your burden is heavy.

I know you are afraid.
I know it is a long ride.
The fight to stay alive.
Is what keeps you going.

Other pulls this way.
Some push that way.
No come this way, go that way.
I tell you to travel your own way.

The burden is heavy.
I see it dragging you down.
Don’t stop though.
Fight the fight, soldier on.

You have the strength deep inside.
Stronger than you ever thought.
You can make it all the way, your way.
One shuffle here, one step there.

You will end up on your very own yellow brick road.
Kids in tow on the road to happiness so new.
One that will fulfill you.
Don’t look back, nothing there for you.

Stiffen those shoulders and get in gear.
Ahead you must go, trudging through snow.
Cold and lonely will fade to warm and happy.
Mark my words as you are well on your way.

The heavy burden placed upon you is underserved.
Only serves a purpose of others.
Trust the one you know you can trust, YOURSELF.
Make the decisions that make you smile.

Your heart is big but this burden isn’t yours to carry.
Let it go and walk your own way.
You live once, be happy in that life.
Let go of the heavy burdens placed upon you.

Walk ahead your way, walk proud.
If you need to rest, then rest you do.
I am here to encourage you.
Give your weary heart a rest.
