Reality or not?

Reality or not?

Have you ever really thought about reality? Does it truly exist? Who’s reality is right? So many questions that to me are just mind blowing when given some thought. So let me see if I can blow your mind too.

Reality as defined by wikipedia: Reality in everyday usage means "the state of things as they actually exist."[1] The term reality, in its widest sense, includes everything that is, whether it is observable, comprehensible, or self-contradictory by science, philosophy, or any other system of analysis. Reality in this sense may include both being and nothingness, whereas existence is often restricted to being (compare with nature).

Okay, read that again. Is it any clearer for you? The state of things as they actually exist is quite the statement. So answer this for me then my friends. Who decides how things actually exist? Is it a person who gets to do this? A group of people? A society? Isn’t each of those groups going to have their own views on what is or isn’t or how something exists? Each person has their own values and opinions which are a part of how we interpret the things that are around us and happening to us. So put people together in groups and you will still have something that is likely affected by the groups personality. So how does one know what is reality? Is my view and interpretations of things just my own personal reality? Does it matter? Or does it only matter when my personal reality interferes with societies decided reality?

If we look at situation is there not a set of facts that are indisputable and actually the reality? Or are these just facts that matter only after they are interpreted for your own reality?

Example: Thus, something such as getting a raise at work could be interpreted differently depending on your view, your reality, of your boss. Did you get the raise because you deserve it? Did you get the raise because your boss expects more of you? Your reality will shape how you see this event when in fact the event is you received a raise from your boss.

Does your boss have his reality of the raise given to you? I am sure he does as he has his ‘reasons’ for giving you the raise. His reason are base don his perceptions and interpretations of your work. Are his interpretations reality? His? Yours? Doe sit matter?

Again what is real? Do the facts matter? The fact is you got a raise. So is that reality? If so what is it when your mind interprets it? Your reality? Is that less or different from other reality?

Are you thinking yet? Does this alter your reality?

Think…..
