The right kind of man
I sit here holding your picture Daddy.
Sit here looking at you, the man I never knew.
Wondering what you were like in real life.
I know in my dreams that you are the perfect man.
The Daddy I always missed and dreamt off so much.
Yes, Daddy I dreamt of you all through my life.
I have your pocketknife and a dime.
Not much they say all the time.
Enough though for me, to hold onto you.
Yes, Daddy enough for me to believe you were the right kind of man.
The kind to love me and my Mom like no other man.
God must have had a plan to take you so soon.
To leave me here without my Daddy.
To leave me wishing to be in your arms.
To have you tuck me in at night.
Daddy I know you were the perfect man.
Mommy loved you till the end and missed you always.
Cause Daddy you were the right kind of man.
A man a little girl wants as a Daddy.
I wanted to be Daddy’s little girl.
I still pretend I am you know, holding onto what little I know.
You are the man, the right kind of man.
To watch me grow from a girl to a woman now.
I know you still look in on me, and I am still Daddy’s little girl.
Daddy, I have your pocketknife and a dime.
Not much they say all the time.
Enough though for me, to hold onto you.
I know someday down the road.
Down this very road I am on.
I will find you again.
We will be together again and this time you won’t go.
We will be happy like we’ve never been.
Daddy, I just want to be your little girl all over again.
I hold onto the few memories and the stories of you.
I look at your picture and know that you Daddy.
You are the right kind of man to never leave me again.
I have your pocketknife and a dime.
Not much they say all the time.
Enough though for me, to hold onto you.
I know you have watched me through all of the years.
You are eager to tell me how proud you are of me.
Cause you are the right kind of man and you left too soon.
I still hold on Daddy too everything I heard about you.
It all leads me to know you are the right kind of man.
The man everyone would want to know and you are my Dad.
That makes me the luckiest girl alive even if you had to go.
I sit here just looking at you. Talking and knowing you understand.
Cause you are the right kind of man.
I have your pocketknife and a dime.
Not much they say all the time.
Enough though for me, to hold onto you.
I have your pocketknife and a dime.
Not much they say all the time.
Enough though for me, to hold onto you.
I love you Daddy.
I miss you too!!!
