Apparently the police officers of South Portland need a little D&D to get their motors running. That is fine and everyone deserves a warm drink on a cold day or even a warm drink on a warm day if one so chooses. My issues with this is the fact that they go through the drive thru which we all know is not always super fast. So should an officer be going through the drive thru? I really do not think they should be doing that. If a call comes in and the officer is stuck in the drive thru then too bad for the people in need of help. So why not walk inside and wait in line so you have the ability to get out of line and go to the emergency. There are many drive thru's that simply have no way out of line to do this and that could cost someone a life one day. I am sure S.P.P.D. is not the only ones to do this but today I saw two cruisers go through the drive thru while I myself was in the line. One a couple cars ahead and one at the back of the pack as I left. It just seems to me that this is not the best of ideas.
