So timid we are frozen.

So timid we are frozen.

I see you and reach for you.
You pull away quickly.
Not sure what to fear anymore.
Pain has been the only way.
You reach for me now.
Yet now it is me who pulls away.
I know the pain too.
The fear is there for me.
Timid we are of love.
Yet, I see it in you.
Like I never have before.
A place I want to be.
I know you see I in me too.
Yet, we fear the fall.
The one we are sure that comes with it all.
The one we have always felt.
The fear holds us back.
We know what we want but fear the journey.
It could end in nothing but misery.
We know that feeling well.
So why bother to hope for more?
Take a chance is what we need to do.
Frozen in fear is where we live.
Can we walk together?
Hand in hand past the gates of fear?
Do we dare to step hand in hand?
Hoping for a love so true?
Timid we are right now.
I stand and face you.
You stand and face me.
We see it in each others eyes.
Can we get where we want to go?
Fear has a frozen in place.
Frozen in a lonely place.
The warmth between us can help the thaw.
Please come closer.
Let us melt it away.
Together we can walk hand in hand.
Take a chance on me.
Cause I want to take one on you.
Walk past timid with me.
I dare you too.
