I don’t know when.
I don’t know why.
But I do know
One of these days.
You are gonna wake up.
Ain’t gonna be around.
To little attention.
Over too long of a time.
Neglected and rejected.
One of these days.
It will be an empty bed.
It will be an empty room.
I will be gone.
Gone because you let me leave.
Gone because you didn’t help feel the need.
Gone because the love just was left to die.
The flame on the candle flickered for a long time.
Long before it ever burnt out.
Even then you didn’t try to light it.
Didn’t even notice it was a little more dark.
Too busy with something else.
Excuses for today.
Excuses for tomorrow.
